    Healing Balm Therapy LLC

My name is Renee D. Frierson-Briscoe.  I am born and raised in Philly! I started this practice in 2017 after years of working in community mental health. I realized during that time there were limited mental health resources available for African Americans in the Greater Philadelphia area and a great need still existed for services for BIPOC. Additionally, a stigma persisted with regard to seeking help in the community as it related to mental health.

I was fortunate to find services when I needed them but it took awhile. So I made the decision that I needed to make a difference by becoming a provider and I was determined to effect change and educate my community on the value of psychotherapy/counseling. I am dedicated to serving the  community directly and working to continue to train competent mental health providers for BIPOC.
